The platform canopy stretched the full length of the wall but after the line was closed to passengers it was shortened as seen here with a new flimsy canopy over the doors into the warehouse.

Hadleigh station in November 1974. Wilson's corm mill is seen in the distance opposite the water cooling tower for the maltings. The tower is close to Station Road and local children used to stand close to the tower and get sprayed with cold water on hot summer days.
