Station Name: HADLEIGH
Hadleigh station building in 1986; all the council paraphernalia on the platform has now gone suggesting that Hadleigh Council were no longer using the station building as a store. Wilson's corn mill is seen in the background. Note the new fencing across the track bed; for some years in the 1980s part of the mill building was let out as flats. That part of the building was eventually brought back into mill use.

The cars are parked on the old cattle dock. Note the new warehouses in the distance while the maltings still remain on the left.

One of two timber goods warehouses at Hadleigh station in 1986. This was the smaller of the two warehouses. A siding passed through the first warehouse and on into the second warehouse through the blocked opening on the right. Wilson's corn mill is seen in the distance on the far left.

Hadleigh station and good shed awaiting development in 1991. The buildings are now out of use but it would be many years before development of the site would start.

The short approach road to the station is seen on the right with Wilson's corn mill on the corner. The line ended between Wilson’s mill and the malthouse. Note the 'no entry' signs beyond the mill; the station is fenced and awaiting redevelopment.Photo by Brian Burgess ![]() Hadleigh station and maltings in 1995. The site had been empty for several years and demolition of Wilson's grain silo (centre rear) is underway.

By April 2011 the station site had changed radically. The station is now a private residence with a new road replacing the rails that used to run here. The car on the right is standing on the old cattle dock.

Hadleigh station building in January 2018, note the new loft window. The station always had an upper floor which, until 1918, was the cramped and dark accommodation for the station master. Now a window lets some light in.

Looking north into Hadleigh station forecourt in October 2018. What was originally the front entrance to the station is now in the rear garden of the new residence. The small canopy is in the same place as the original canopy but it is a modern replica and doesn't actually look like the original canopy. The building in the background is new and stands on the site of Wilson's corn mill.

Hadleigh station looking north in October 2018. This canopy is also a replica although supported on the original cast iron columns. Wilson's malthouse on the right as also been renovated as housing. After passing the platform the track curved to the left passing between the far side of the malthouse and Wilson's mill to terminate at buffers at Station Road.
