East Winch station seen in September 1968, a few days before closure seen from a DMU departing for Kings Lynn.  The last trains ran on 7 September after which the line closed completely.  There was a notice on the station house door that may have been the official closure notice

A few minutes after the previous photo was taken the dmu has just passed the points at the end of the single line and is passing the siote of the East Winch goods yard. The line on the left is a siding. The yard closed in 1964 and the road on the left leads to two recently built sheds alongside the line.

Inside the East Winch signal box in June 1979. In LNER days the box had a Saxby & Farmer 29 lever frame. The frame and all signalling equipment has been removed leaving only a stove and a desk.

The main station building, waiting room and gents' toilet seen from East Winch signal box in June 1979. The window in the side of the station building has clearly been altered at some time. It looks the same in all pictures reproduced here but may have originally been a bay window which woukd have alloweed the station master to look both ways along the line. Such a bay window is still seen
at Middleton Towers.

Looking north-west at East Winch station in July 1982. The goods yhard was on the far side of the crossing beyond the signal box. The purpose of the building on the building on the right is not known. It originally stood on the platform but the platform was shortened in later years.
