L.C.G.B. The 'Dorset Coast Express' railtour at Weymouth station on 7 May 1967. The tour was double-headed between Weymouth and Bournemouth Central by 73029 (inside) and 76026.
With less than three months’ service left, the pilot engine 76026 was built to the BR Standard 4, 2-6-0 design by R A Riddles at Doncaster works. It entered service at Eastleigh shed during October 1953 and lasted until withdrawal from Bournemouth shed during July 1967 to be scrapped at Cohens of Morriston two months later.
