Working the RCTS (East Midlands Branch) ' East Midlander No.5 railtour' on 13 May 1962 is the unusual pairing of ex-Southern Region Schools Class 30925, 'Cheltenham', and ex-LMS 2P, 40646. The 2P was built at Crewe works in 1931, entering service in September. This Fowler-designed 4-4-0 was withdrawn from Bescot shed in May1962 and cut up at Cashmores, Great Bridge in September of the same year. The Schools Class was designed by Maunsell and built at Eastleigh works in April 1934. It was withdrawn from Annesley  shed in December 1962 but escaped the cutter’s torch and is now part of the national collection.
