Station Name: USWORTH

Looking north from the site of Usworth station in June 2011. The much degraded and overgrown remains of the platforms are either side of the tracks. Since 1991 the line through the station has been ‘mothballed’ and the tracks have been invaded by vegetation. At the level crossing about 100yd ahead (not visible in this view) tarmac has been laid across the rails.
