Swaffham station in 1968 looking east from the north (island) platform prior to closure. The main building is to the right and a waiting shelter to the left. BR Eastern Region signage is seen, including a totem and running-in board on the south platform. Until the end the station remains gas-lit.

Swaffham station in October 1976 looking south-west. The station building with its awning and the stationmaster’s house are on the south platform whilst the north (island) platform is provided with a modest waiting shed and awning.

A Blue Coach Services bus parked in Swaffham station yard in April 1979. Blue Coach Services of Shouldham (now trading as Matthews), ran local services in and around King’s Lynn. Leyland PD3 HNW 365D was new to Farsley Omnibus Co.  Matthews Of Shouldham continues to operate to this day although it is many years since they last operated double deckers.

Looking east at Swaffham in July 1982 as an industrial unit is under construction on the former railway trackbed. Although the station buildings (right) appear to be under threat they would survive and be refurbished and still exist today (2017).
