Station Name: STUBBINS

Looking south from the north end of the southbound platform at Stubbins in May 1972. Since 1970 this platform had been out of use as the line had been singled. The station looks very derelict at this time. A poster can be seen on the waiting shelter which advertised the withdrawal of passenger services. In the gap in the fence to the right a rusting single track of the Accrington line can be seen. It continued on to the far end of the station where it joined the Bacup line. It had however been out of
use since 1966.
