Looking north at the Strabane GNRI station forecourt in July 1968. Departing from the station is CDR bus ORR33 a Leyland Tiger Cub. The bus was en-route to Strabane Abercron Square from where it would operate a service Letterkenny. The station building had been burnt by vandals earlier in the year. Closer to the station is a CIE E Class bus which was on hire to the CDR. It is waiting to run a later journey to Killybegs. To the right within what was originally the station goods yard is the Ulsterbus garage. The CDR had started to use the forecourt of the GNRI station when rail services had ceased.

In July 1968 CDR employees pose with a CIE P class bus on the forecourt of Strabane GNRI station. The bus was on hire to the CDR. To the left is the driver Collins Lafferty who had been a railcar driver prior to 31 December 1959. To the right is Eddie Friel who worked in the CDR store at Stranorlar. During the summer months he would undertake driving duties. The bus had worked in from Ballybofey as a duplicate service to carry heavy traffic into the Ulsterbus Belfast express at Strabane.
