A view looking north towards the main entrance to the Strabane CDR station in 1913. To the left is the signal cabin that was erected in 1908 when the Letterkenny branch was under construction. Standing in front of the box are a company of the Ulster Volunteer Force (UVF). Addressing the crowd from a car is Edward Carson a Unionist politician who was opposed to the Home Rule Act of 1912. He would go on to become instrumental in the creation of Northern Ireland.

On 20 November 1954 a Londonderry Victoria Road service is prepared at Strabane station. By this time trains on that branch usually consisted of just two coaches as seen in this view. The train is passing through the station on the centre road. It would then set back into the platform that can be seen to the left. at the head of the train is CDR locomtove number 11 'Erne'.

The north end of Strabane CDR station seen on 31 December 1954. Arriving into the station is a service from Londonderry Victoria Road. At the head of the train is CDR locomotive 'Alice'. This was the last day for the services on that branch.

The very last up service from Strabane to Londonderry Victoria Road is seen heading away from Strabane on 31 Dec 1954. The train is climbing the steep bank that carried the branch over the main line of the GNRI. To the left wagons can be seen at the transhipment sidings.

On Friday 6 June 1955 CDR railcar number 10 is seen departing from Strabane on a service to Stranorlar. Coupled to the rear of the railcar is a box van. It was common practice on the CDR for railcars to haul vans in this way. The GNRI station can be seen to the right.

The diesel shunter 'Phoenix' is seen at Strabane station on 6 June 1955 shunting a wagon. The shunter has just used a section of the Londonderry Victoria Road branch to assist its move. At this time the branch was out of use but it would see trains once again just for one day on 30 June 1955. To the right CDR locomotive number 6 'Columbkille' is busy preparing a lengthy goods train. Goods traffic would remain heavy right up until closure.

A Stranorlar service is seen arriving at the Strabane CDR station on 6 June 1955. Operating the service is CDR railcar number 12. The signalman is taking the single line token from the driver.
