Station Name: ST. LUKES

Looking west at the site of St Lukes station’s Wigan line platform from a point that would have been at its eastern end. The site of the station has been developed with housing yet in January 2012 there were still remains of the railway to be seen. Note the wall to the left side of the house directly opposite the photographer. It was the southern boundary wall of the Wigan line. The track was immediately to the right of the wall with the island platform to its right. The same wall can be seen on the right in the picture below.
