Looking north towards Sherburn Colliery station in November 2009. The two tracks are ‘mothballed’, and have been disused for 18 years. To the right of the tracks, the goods dock can be glimpsed through the vegetation. The dock approach road formerly sloped upwards to the right of Front Street bridge. Despite its awkward position the station handled a full range of goods traffic including livestock.
