It is the course of the original line from Rowsley first station – though that actually ran to the right of the two cottages more-or-less on the alignment of the trees. In 1851 six houses were built, those in this view are Nos.1 and 2 Midland Cottages, the ones that were occupied in the 1851 census. The course of the 1862 alignment was at the far side of the blue industrial building.
