40657 is seen working the Watford Junction to Rickmansworth and Rickmansworth to St Albans Abbey legs of the Branch Lines Society ' North London Railtour' on 12 March 1961. The 5-coach train was too long to run round in the platform road. The train had to be shunted out of Rickmansworth Church Street station and brought into the other road. The loco then ran round via the platform road. The train is seen crossing back over the canal bridge east of the station. The W&RR Act stipulated that this bridge should be ‘good and substantial’ and ‘at least ten feet
above the top water level’.
