Station Name: RAMSBOTTOM

Ramsbottom station looking south from the reinstated footbridge in March 2008. The 'new' ELR has rebuilt Ramsbottom station in the syle of a typical ELR station and they have presented it as it might have appeared in the British Railways era. The northbound platform, to the right, is original but its building dates from 1987 when the line re-opened. The southbound platform is a replacement as the original was demolished after 1972. An ELR heritage service waits to depart for Rawtenstall.
