The Rainford
Junction station Ormskirk line platform seen in the early 1950s. An Ormskirk train is standing at the platform with Ivatt 2MT 2-6-2T locomotive number 41283 at its head. The engine was based at Aintree at that time having been delivered new to British Railways in November 1950.
Looking west from the down platform at Rainford Junction on 12 February 2007. The former Ormskirk line platform can be seen on the far side of the line.
