The BR(NE) double-sided running-in board at the west end of Pelaw (third) station. ‘Black-edged lettering’ used only by the North Eastern region was a feature both of the running-in board and totems at Pelaw. Staff have neglected the flower bed in the foreground; in October 1969, only three months after this photograph was taken, Pelaw was to become an unstaffed ‘Paytrain’ station.
