The access path to Partington Station after it had been improved by Mr Patrick Curran in the early 1960s. Mr Curran was a railway employee based at Manchester Central but who lived in the station house at Partington from 1960 until 1966. He planted up the station garden and made it attractive. He also whitewashed bricks and made a feature of them leading up to the station.
