werneth_old6.jpg) Oldham Wernerth signalbox taken from the west end of the down platform in 1966. The box controlled the junction between the Thorpes Bridge and the Middleton lines. The junction itself can just be seen to the right of the picture although by this date the Middleton line was closed. Part of the goods yard is seen on the left behind the box.
