Newmarket station forecourt seen from the entrance onto Paddocks Drive (formerly part of The Avenue) in May 1975. When first opened carriages would arrive at the far end of the forecourt drop of or take on passengers under the verandah (a smaller replacement is seen here) and leave by this gate. By this time the building had been sold to J Brooke Fairbairn & Company, fabric importers & exporters
