 Interior of the new Tyneside suburban electric stock on the inaugural run from New Bridge Street to Benton. Interior fittings include luggage racks and hanging straps to aid the balance of standing passengers. The straps are not needed on this occasion when the only passengers are the official party and guests, all seated: a suitably-attired gathering, and – it appears - exclusively male!
