Narborough & Pentney Station Gallery 2:
November 1975 - March 2018

Narborough station entrance in November 1975. The first room on the right was the booking office/station master's office. The bay window would have given a good view of the level crossing and signal box.

Looking south-east along the track bed from the level crossing in November 1975, the goods shed is seen on the left. The goods service was withdrawn on 13 July 1964 and the shed has now found a new industrial use. The two openings have been bricked up. That nearest the camera was for a siding which ran through the shed, the other opening was for road vehicles loading or unloading.

Looking north-west from the level crossing at Narborough & Pentney in July 1982. Although the house has been in private occupation for some year the track bed has been left to nature and appears to have been partially infilled.

The up platform and track-bed at Narborough and Pentney station had become garden in this 28 July 2010 image. The platform canopy is a feature and clearly in good order.

Narborough station building in March 2018, in use as a dwelling.  The level crossing gates were removed before 1975 and a picket fence erected: a gate-like fence has now replaced the earlier barrier.  The platform canopy can be seen, intact, in the background.

Both platforms were intact at Narborough station in March 2018.  This view is from the road beside the site of the level crossing.  There was a signal box on the platform at the right hand side of the image; no trace remained.

Narborough station entrance in March 2018. Although the building has been modernised it is still easily recognisable. It has been re-roofed and the original diamond pattern tiles have gone. The windows have presumably been replaced but the leading is very similar to the original pattern.

The imposing former goods shed at Narborough seen in March 2018.  A siding projected from the right-hand arched doorway towards the road. The site was for sale for £525,000 at the date of the visit and described as:- Former Victorian Railway brick and flint Goods Shed now converted into Offices. Former Builders Yard, Offices and Units available For Sale as a whole with Vacant Possession. The property is situated between King's Lynn and Swaffham. Located on Pentney Road less than a mile from the A47 Great Yarmouth to Birmingham main road. The property comprises Office Block, Cold Store and 2 Industrial Units all sitting on approximately 2.1 Acres (STMS) with gated entrance and palisade fencing around whole property. In September 2018 the price had been reduced to £485,000.
