Station Name: MILLFIELD (2nd site)

This extensive area of derelict land was Millfield goods yard which adjoined the first passenger station. The view from 1990 is north-westwards towards Hylton Road whose bridge over the former Sunderland to Penshaw line can be seen in the distance. Houses would later be built on the right hand
side of the site.
