The main entrance of Londonderry Foyle Road station seen from the quayside in May 1964. The entrance building with its distictive towers was built by the INWR in 1870. In the foreground the mixed gauge track of the LP&HC can be seen. Running between the station and the wall is the line that ran into the NCC City Goods station. These had been out of use since August 1962.

The GNRI built refreshment rooms at Londonderry Foyle Road station seen in May 1964. The GNRI Great War memorial can also be seen above the bench. This was one of three GNRI memorials errected to the memory of employees who lost their lives in the war (the others were at Belfast Great Victoria Street and Dublin Amiens Street)

On 13 June 1964 the IRRS 'All Ireland' rail tour is seen at Londonderry Foyle Road prior to departure for Portadown and Dublin. At the head of the train is UTA 4-4-0 S class locomotive number 60 'Slieve Donard'' (ex GNRI 172). The engine was built in 1913 and withdrawn in May 1965. Directly behind the engine is a CIE six wheel full brake van. This was the last rail tour to visit Foyle Road.

During the last months of operation the crew of BUT railcar 121 pose for the camera at Londonderry Foyle Road station on 1 January 1965.

On 1 January 1965 BUT railcar number 121 (ex GNRI 701) sporting UTA livery is seen at Londonderry Foyle Road on a Belfast Great Victoria Street service. This railcar was one of the double ended type and it was the first to be delivered in June 1957.

In March 1965 the city of Derry/Londonderry suffered with flooding. In this view looking north from the Craigavon Bridge Londonderry Foyle Road station can be seen. It had seen its last passenger trains on 14 February 1965 but the track would remain in situ until the Autumn of that year.
