Railcar No.39 (Nettle) was built by Sentinel Waggon Works of Shrewsbury in August 1929 with bodywork constructed by Cammel Laird & Co, (later to become Metro Cammel). Fitted with a six cylinder engine powered by a vertical, water tube boiler, it lasted until June 1944 when it was scrapped. The last of the railcars was withdrawn in 1948; none are preserved. Seen at Carlisle Canal shed. Nettle was used on the Langholm branch between the wars.
