Station Name: HELLESDON

[Source: Glen Kilday]

Hellesdon station, possibly taken about the time of total closure in 1969.  The station name board had gone but the building appears to have been intact and modified.  At some point oil heating must have been installed and a rusty tank can be seen on the forecourt side of the building. On the left mid-way up the image, the gated entrance to the goods facilities remained in place but the siding line is overgrown, if present at all.  Some reports suggest that road-stone traffic continued at Hellesdon until the line closed but this image might show otherwise.
