RAILWAYS AT BIDSTON

When the GCR opened a short line between their Bidston sidings and the Birkenhead dock system in 1907 it was carried over the River Birkett by a wooden trestle bridge. The bridge was replaced by a concrete structure in 1957. The bridge is shown looking north in May 2011.
