Station Name: FOREST HALL (NER)

LNER architect’s drawing of the proposed new station for Forest Hall (1924) in connection with the intended quadrupling of the route. The building would have been constructed on a new road bridge (to replace the level crossing). Two designs were submitted: this is design B. The quadrupling plan was abandoned, possibly as a result of the economic problems which beset the country in the mid 1920s.
