A head on crash between a passenger train and a goods train at Eythorne in 1919. The crew of the evening train decided to save time by not running round and pushed the single coach back towards Shepherdswell. Locomotive No. 1 collided with No. 2 which was hauling empty wagons to Tilmanstone. The only passenger jumped onto the grass before the crash.
