Station Name: DURHAM
Still open but included for completeness

On 8 May 1972 a Class 37-hauled train is entering the up platform of Durham station. The extensive glazed verandah is still in place, but would soon be removed and a simpler structure constructed in its place. The LNER electric lighting has been replaced with fluorescent lighting showing the station name on the diffusers.
