Photo:The 1st Dunford Bridge station. The station was resited a few yards to the south in 1953 when the new Woodhead Tunnel was opened. One bore of the original tunnel now carries National Grid high tension power lines. A 2' gauge railway is used to take workers and materials into the tunnel .
