At the western end of Dingle station there were two sidings positions one on either side of the main line. This view from 1999 shows the western end of the siding that was located on the north side of the line. Close observation reveals a buffer set into the wall. Originally there would have been two buffers at the end of the siding. The tunnel that carried the line down to Herculaneum Dock can be seen to the left.
