The dead end tunnel to the east of Dingle Station as seen in 1999. Since 1977 it had been part of the Roscoe Engineering car repair workshops. The dead end tunnel had been used as a reversal point for trains. After arriving at the north platform face a train would have run into the tunnel, reversed and then ran into the south platform face ready for departure to Seaforth.
