Before it was demolished in the 1970s the stations single storey booking office would have been right in front of the photographer. In this view the demolition gangs can be seen hard at work. The line through Dean Lane remains open for Waste Transfer Trains. Beyond the bridge in the background is a Greater Manchester Waste Authority Waste Transfer Facility.
