Looking south from the down platform of Cullercoats station in 1975. The stationmaster’s house is on the extreme left. Originally the awnings at this station (and at Whitley Bay 1st station) were of ridge-and-furrow design, but they were replaced with simpler ones of a longitudinal ridge design c1920.
