Church Fenton station looking north at the central island platform (platforms 2 and 3) in July 1973. This platform had a wide selection of buildings including waiting rooms, toilets and a newsagent's shop. BR(NE) tangerine signs giving platform numbers are in place alongside Corporate Identity black-and-white signs carrying the station’s name. The buildings were demolished in 1990
