Looking west towards Belfast Queens Quay from Ballymaccarret Junction in 1976. The newly-laid track in the foreground is part of the reopened former Belfast Central Railway. The opening of this line in April 1976 allowed the closure of Belfast Queens Quay, and it reconnected the Bangor line to the rest of the Northern Ireland railway network.
