The original Bedford St Johns station forecourt c early 1970s. The principal station building stood here and included a trainshed. The girders seen on the left once supported the west end of the trainshed. After removal of the trainshed in the late 1950s/early 60s the girders were used to support a canopy. By this date only four girders and a short section of canopy remained.
