The Bangor station sign seen in this view is located on the up platform and was installed during the station alteration works that were undertaken by the LMS between 1923 and 1927. After those works had been completed the platform to the left became number 1 and that to the right number 2. Platform 1 was taken out of use by 1980 and platform 2 was re-numbered as 1 (which it had originally been before the 1923.
