Station Name: ACCRINGTON (Bury line platforms)

Looking southwest from the site of the north end of the southbound Manchester platform. It is also where there was a junction between the Clifton Junction line and the line that ran from Preston to Burnley. To the right beyond the fence the latter line is still in use as a passenger railway. The new Accrington station building opened in October 2010, seen in the middle of the picture, sits accross the trackbed of the former line to Manchester via Clifton Junction.
