The site of the demolished station building at Aberfan c1986. Part of the back wall of the building still remains as does the blocked entrance from Station Hill. Passengers entered through a door in the north west upper corner of the building and came out onto the platform through an arched doorway in the south east corner.

After standing derelict and overgrown for many years a new housing development was due to be built on the old station site at Aberfan. This view shows the site in April 2016 shortly before work started.

Following the infilling of the Station Hill bridge a slope has been provided to bring bridge level to track level. This will eventually become a community space for the village. Station Hill is seen on the left and right behind the railings.

Looking south east at the siote of Aberfan station in September 2022. The bridge has gone but the hairpin bend remains. The only evidence of the station is the ramp down to the down platform. This has been retained as pedestrian access to Railway Close.
